Fremstrikk Spire blouse (Eng)

The Spire Blouse is a knitting pattern designed by Aftenstrikk.

This pattern is written in English and will be downloadable .

This pattern is part of Fremstrikk 2023. Fremstrikk is a magazine from Rauma Garn made with the intention of promoting those who work with, engage in, and create using Norwegian wool. In Fremstrikk 2023 we have teamed up with six talented and inspiring designers. Each of them have created a pattern using one of our softest yarn qualities made from Norwegian wool, Fivel.

The idea for the Spire Blouse was to create a garment that designer Enya Ødegaard wished she had in her wardrobe during pregnancy and the time that followed. “For several years, I have thought about creating a timeless and feminine garment that fits the body through several chapters of life. A garment for a changing body when there is no such thing too comfortable. A garment with room for movement, room for change, and room for shapes. A garment that is both comfortable and has a nice fit, while also being feminine, simple, and classic.”

The blouse is knit top down with raglan increases and a small split in the middle of the collar. There is some ease around the chest and more around the belly. The sleeves are also spacious. All edges are cast off with an i-cord.

16 stitches x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm
To be sure to get the right measurements you should
knit a gauge swatch before you start your project: Cast
on a few stitches and knit with suggested needle in
stockinette. Measure to see how many stitches and
rows you have on 10×10 cm. It should be 16 sts and 24
rows. If you have less, go down in needles size. If you
have more, go up in needle size.

5 mm long circular needle (10 cm shorter than the bust
circumference) and a long circular needle for magic
loop, or a short circular needle (30 cm)/double pointed
needles for sleeves.
4 mm long circular needle for i-cord.

For this pattern it is recommended to buy at least 6 skeins of Rauma Fivel.
